2024 Aviation Summer Camp
On July 8 & 9, and July 10 & 11 BWG in collaboration with the Aviation Museum of Kentucky held its annual aviation summer camps with 72 students in attendance.
The camps are named after two generous, and gracious donors who thrive on giving underprivileged children an opportunity to experience aviation and all it has to offer. We are humbled by your generosity and thankful for your commitment to helping us create a positive change in our community. Jim and Jan Bohannon, and Bob and Cara Pitchford are the namesake of our camps this year as well as long-time supporters of our summer camps.
The camps began at BWG in 2005 and they continue to inspire youth toward a path in aviation. In attending these classes, students begin creating a tailored approach to their future by being introduced to local organizations and resources available to the aviation community.
BWG has a strong aviation community and an abundance of Veterans and volunteers who strive to get today’s youth engaged and involved in the future of aviation and community by sharing their knowledge and history they have lived.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude for everyone who showed us their unwavering support during these camps. Your kindness and commitment have made a profound difference in our journey, and we are eager to continue these partnerships for years to come.
